Canvas is lighter than wood and can be easily framed and rolled. Canvas is more durable than the paper or card stock. Also the canvas is good medium when you want a glaze on your painting. Canvas is reasonably waterproof and durable than wood or any other material. If you want your paintings to last log canvas is an good option.
