If it's unopened, it's probably still usable. Unopened cans of paint last for years when stored correctly. Unused latex and water-based acrylic paints last up to 10 years, and the shelf life of alkyd and oil-based can be as long as 15 years. You have to note acrylic painting is only around for past 50-60 years or so. In theory, if proper care is done and painting artist done everything they supposed to do correctly, they should last for centuries as they will be less prone to cracking etc.

Acrylic paintings are thought to last longer than oil paint, as oil paint darkens after a century or so. BUT acrylic paint hasn't been around for as long, so we cannot know for sure. But generally they are also known to crack during sudden changes in the climate. Or different pressures being put on the canvas can also result in the paint cracking. But in all honesty, all sorts of pants have to be taken care of and preserved. And acrylics are totally worth it, just look at the many Rajasthani paintings and God Hanuman paintings here!

The answer is, it depends. If acrylics area unit used properly they ought to last centuries. though acrylics haven't been around as long a time as oil paints, it's typically thought that they're going to last. There area unit some benefits to acrylics during this regard with respect to oil paints. when a century approximately paints films become brittle, and can typically develop fine cracks, particularly if on a versatile ground like canvas. Acrylic is additional versatile and has less of this vulnerability. If you would like to form paintings that area unit an in. or additional thick, acrylic may be a far better choice!

We see the existence of acrylic paintings 50-60 years ago. If the proper care and maintenance are done of the acrylic paintings then it will surely last long, after all, acrylic paintings are made up of pigments so it will last long for sure but we can't predict how long it will remain the same.

Acrylic paintings have often been hailed as more long-lasting than oil paintings. Oil paintings have been known to fade slightly over the years, but this has only been observed in classic and old artworks. Acrylic paint has not been around long enough to
